K.C. McKanzie does her very own brand of americana , folk and alternative songwriter music.

Her guitar and banjo style are a mixture of rootsy fingerpicking and layed back strumming. K.C. sings on top of that with a soft but distinct voice.

Her stories are murky, her lyrics loveridden.

"All I want to write about is love. The depths of love. The absurd humour of love. It's an inexhaustible subject and it is the only thing that makes our poor existence exiting." sais K.C. about her songs.

She played little stages with her Bassplayer and Drummer Budi for 10 years. The Duo travelled all over Europe in a little VW car filled with their instruments and their sleepingbags.

“After the first tour I felt as if this is the only possible way of life I can imagine for myself. I think I have a kind of  circuskidgene. We just had to tour and play, just had to.”

Sais K.C., who grew up in rural east germany , with not much travelling going on and not even a telephone in the little farm village she’s from.

“My music is definitely influenced by my childhood. I think I had a very special childhood. I grew up close to nature, but not only the romantic side of it. I experienced it’s cruelty and how lonely and small it can make you feel. I learned the cynicism of the people who work very hard in the fields and I love big and noisy machines.”
